Hand made percussion from the Ivory Coast.
We first found Kambala about 15 years ago. They were truly the best production Djembes, Doum doum and Bougarabou we had seen. We were very flattered and honoured to be asked to distribute them in the UK and Ireland.
The materials and craftsmanship are excellent, and we have been lucky to have had a consistent supply over the last 15 or so years. A big thank you to Marcel and his team.

Ranging in size from 8 inch to 15 inch, these beautifully-carved drums are the real sound of West Africa. Iroca wood, subtly-carved stems, black pre-stretched cord, bound rings, goat skin.

These narrow-stemmed drums accentuate the top end slap and make fine solo drums. They are light and have intricate carvings on the stem. Iroca wood, black cord, goat skin: 12 & 14 inch.

The Bassam range offers fantastic value to the player, plain Ivory Coast Iroca wood Djembes, skinned with goat and strung with pre-stretched red cord. These are great-sounding, robust drums for beginners and schools.
Five sizes available: 9, 10, 11, 12 & 14 inch.
The Bassam drums are used extensively in our Drumming packs / kits.

Bougarabous are African congas. They are skinned with cow, and have a very sonorous tone. They are sometimes played with one hand and one stick. Suitable for Djembe, conga or bongo players.

Doum Doum make the bass of the African ensemble. We stock four sizes: two Kenkeni, 8" and 10", the smallest of the range, the Sangba, 13" - a mid drum, and the Doum Doum 16", taking the deeper bass. They are made from Iroca wood with cowskin heavy-duty heads. They are usually played with a simple wood beater, but can sound very sonorous with a puff mallet.
