Ricardo Bauer has been making fine Brasilian congas and Samba instruments for the last 15 years. He learned the trade from his Father who made congas, bongos and atabaques under the 'Raul' label in the 1980s and 1990s. The name changed to 'Bauer', but the quality and dedication to fine musical instruments remains the same.

The Timba is the instrument that made the Bauer name with traditional Samba players in Brasil. This conical drum is used much in Samba Reggae and Timbalada. Sometimes they are referred to as Atabaque.
- Timba sizes: 12" x 60cm, 14" x 70cm, 13" x 85cm, 14" x 90cm
- Colours: Red, Blue, Green, Black, White
- Head Plastic, Bauer 210 micron
The Tumbala is a recent development. Timba shape but skinned with cow hide. It sounds like an Ashiko or dancing conga and is great for street and drum circles, as it adds a bougarabou rumble to the rhythm.
- Tumbala size 13" x 80cm
- Colours mostly funky
- Head cow hide, but not too thick
