Samba Percussion conjures up many images. You think of Carnaval in Rio, a whole Bateria of drummers, singers and dancers making the most explosive and loudest acoustic sound in the world. You think of other Brasilian Carnaval traditions such as Samba Reggae from Salvador and Maracatu from Recife/Olinda. You think of the softer, quieter indoor Samba - Pagode, with similar rhythms but different instruments. You also think of congas and bongos played by some of the finest percussionists in the world.

Samba has, in the UK and Europe, gone wild. There are some brilliant professional groups, who are leading some amazing educational projects using Brasilian percussion instruments. Samba is a group activity, with a collection of simple rhythms melded together into a coherent piece of music.

Our mission has been to bring instruments from Brasilian drum makers into the UK for a great price, and to make them available and playable by percussionists of all ages. We have instruments and accessories from all over Brasil - our main Brasilian brands are listed at the head of the page.
